Costa Rica 2024 in San Vito, hosted by Nancy W

Tom and I arrived at our good friend Nancy's San Vito home in southern Costa Rica on February 26 after a full day of flying from Eugene to San Jose, and then a 7 hour drive the next day.  Sergio, a driver whom Nancy knows, picked us up at Adventure Inn in San Jose early morning and we arrived on Nancy's patio around 2:00 to this amazing view looking towards Panama.  Her garden full of trees, shrubs and flowers wraps around the entire house.  The greenhouse provides lots of healthy greens for salads as well as plant starts for the property.

The orchids and other flowers were beautiful.

And the birds around Nancy's yard and cloud forest property kept us captivated for hours on end during our 2 week stay.

We never tired of each day's sunrise at 5:15am!

We hired a guide one day to take us into the mountains towards Panama where we observed Quetzal (no photos!) and Wattled Bellbird.  We also enjoyed delicious cups of coffee from beans grown in the area.

We did several other close by morning outings and experienced a canopy tower, huge bamboo thickets, lizards, tree ferns, Boat-billed Herons, bats, etc, etc.

And additional morning forays provided beautiful scenery, artwork, birds, plants and flowers.

A few more fun and interesting things.

We had lots of fresh fruit to choose from!  And lots of ice tea and fruit drinks to keep us hydrated.  Nancy and I splurged and went into town one day for a HUGE coffee float!  Nogui became a fast friend, even though we were unable to converse with him in Spanish, and helps Nancy maintain her beautiful “Finca Nawabome”.
Thank you Nancy for the most fun and relaxing vacation ever in your most picturesque and comfortable San Vito home!!
